The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Daniel Hay
Daniel L. Hay, 86, St. Marys , died June 30, 2012, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Aug. 12, 1925, in St. Marys, to Daniel and Alice Spicer Hay. On July 3, 1948, he married Frieda R. Miars, who survives in St. Marys.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jean A. Phillips, Schaumburg, Ill., and Dana H. William Graves, Centerville; a brother-in-law, Robert "Red" Katterhenry, Wapakoneta; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Mary Alice (Richard) Longemeyer and Anna Katterhenry.
He was a 1943 graduate of Memorial High School and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1984 after 36 years of service.
He was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Jon Kraner officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in St. Marys. Military honors will be provided by the St. Marys Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Calling is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
