The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Marcel Welling
Marcel R. Welling, 89, Bryant, Ind., died July 9, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Bryant, Ind., to Henry and Elizabeth Schaefer Welling. On June 24, 1950, he was married in Decatur, Ind., to Mary Ellen Lengerich, who survives.
Also surviving are six daughters, Marj (Larry) Sanders, Mentone, Ind., Cathy (Mike) Bettinger, Coldwater, Geri (Mark) Mestemaker, Coldwater, Judy (Roger) Wellman, Bryant, Joanne (Greg) Alig, St. Anthony, and Linda (Kevin) Wellman, Decatur; three sons, Bob (Rose) Welling and Dave (Colleen) Welling, all of Bryant, and Paul (Mary) Welling, St. Anthony; a sister, Clara (Dick) Friedrich, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 40 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandchild; three sisters, Sr. Alfrieda Welling, Mary Kemper and Adelaide Wilkinson; and a brother, Hilbert Welling.
He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy and was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, and the St. Joseph Men's Sodality of the church, Knights of Columbus, Decatur, and the Bryant Senior Citizens.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
