Richard Brown
Richard Brown, 75, Celina, died Sept. 26, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Decatur, Ill., to Robert and Eleanor Damery Brown. On Nov. 23, 1983, he married Theresa J. Thurman-Orrender, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Daniel (Ruth) Brown, Aubrey, Texas, and Gary (Sally) Brown, Idaho Springs, Colo.; a brother, Russell Brown, St. Marys; a step-daughter, Kimberly (Rev. David) King, Graham, N.C.; a step-son Rick (Pamela) King, New Hope, N.C.; a granddaughter; and three step-grandchildren.
He graduated from Blue Mound High School in Illinois and earned his bachelor's degree at Millikin University, Decatur, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and retired as plant manager at Wonder Bread Baking Co., Woodlawn. He also was a licensed amateur radio operator.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Windy Point Park, Grand Lake, the Rev. David King officiant. Military honors will be conducted at the service.
Memorials may be given to the Grand Lake Hospice program.
