The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Thomas Hedrick
Thomas F. Hedrick, 81, Coldwater, died Nov. 18, 2012, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Celina to Tillman and Emma Pottkotter Hedrick. On Sept. 25, 1954, he married Kathryn Stelzer, who survives.
Also surviving are five children, Ron (Rajean) Hedrick, Celina, Dianne (Dave) Smith, Celina, Linda (Mike) Lippman, West Chester, Joe (Terri) Hedrick, Elyria, and Sue (Jim) Kaup, Coldwater; a sister, Mary Lou Hoyng, Coldwater; in-laws, Roger and Evelyn Bechdolt, Bonnie Stelzer, Alice Dirksen, Bob and Eileen Stelzer, Tom and Pat Stelzer, Ken Stelzer and Ralph and Nicki Stelzer; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, James (LaVonne) Hedrick; in-laws, Don Hoyng, Arnold Stelzer, Al Dirksen and Judy Stelzer; and a great-grandchild.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Coldwater American Legion. He retired from the former New Idea plant, Coldwater, and volunteered at Mercer County Community Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice or Mercer Health Home Care.
