The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Stanley Hertenstein
Stanley E. Hertenstein, 86, New Bremen, died at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 30, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born March 4, 1926, near St. Marys to Lance A. and Mary E. McConnell Hertenstein. On June 4, 1949, he married Dorothy M. Nuesmeyer, who died May 4, 2010.
Survivors are his children, Kay (Bruce) Feiten, Mentor, June (Levi) Oaks, Cincinnati, and Steven (Jinny) Hertenstein, Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Darrell (Billie) Hertenstein, Holly, Mich.;
10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, George Hertenstein; and a sister, Amelia Sue Piper.
He had attended St. Marys Memorial High School and
served in the South Pacific with the 41st infantry division of the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen where he was active in several church organizations.
He was a member of the New Bremen Historic Association, the American Legion Post 241 of New Bremen, the former New Bremen Men's Garden Club, and was a former member of the Kettlersville/Van Buren Township Fire Department.
  He retired after 40 years of service with the state, first with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources at Grand Lake St. Marys, where he operated the "Little Turtle" dredger and helped to form the East Bank Park area, and then with the Auglaize County Highway Department.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.     Memorials may be made to the church memorial fund.
