The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Cyril Broering
Cyril R. "Cy" Broering, 84, Maria Stein, died at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 5, 2012, at the Gardens, St. Henry.
He was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Cassella, to Anthony and Josephine Holdheide Broering. On May 7, 1952, he married Mildred "Millie" Guggenbiller, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Anthony (Linda) Broering, Michael (Kathy) Broering, Steve (Nancy) Broering, Ken (Karen) Broering and Elaine (David) Wolters, all of Maria Stein; a brother, Harold (Rosella) Broering, Maria Stein; two sisters-in-law, Irene Broering, Frenchtown, and Kate Broering, Maria Stein; 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are siblings Lawrence, Richard, Joseph, Rev. Victor, Andrew, Clarence and Roman Broering and Rosemary Overman.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, and its Men's Sodality. He also was a member of the Knights of St. John and Catholic Financial Life. He also served 11 years on the Marion Local Board of Education.
He served in the Korean War and worked as a farmer and Marion Mutual Insurance agent.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice and Marion Township Community Park.
