The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

David Muhlenkamp
David J. Muhlenkamp, 65, Troy, passed away Feb. 3, 2013, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was born May 9, 1947, in Greenville, to Richard and Vera Gelhaus Muhlenkamp, who are deceased.
Survivors include his wife, Amy K. Sherman Muhlenkamp; a daughter, Marissa K. Sherman (Joseph) Cookson of Piqua; sisters, Paula Muhlenkamp (Nick) Cox of Ansonia, and Ann Muhlenkamp (Dave) Baker of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Chris (Rhonda) Muhlenkamp of Carmel, Ind., two grandchildren, Landyn and Aidyn Cookson; a stepmother, Margaret Mitchell of Greenville, siblings-in-law, Becky Muhlenkamp of Greenville, Louis (Jenny) Sherman of Botkins, Nancy (Jerry) Ranly of Minster, Jill Sherman of Piqua, Toinette (Don) Alexander of Sidney, Jannis (Bill) Sherman of Minster, and Forrest (Debonaire) Sherman of Sidney; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Sherman of Sidney; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane (Sodders) Muhlenkamp, and one brother, Michael Muhlenkamp.
He attended the University of Dayton and was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, and former member of Dayton Liederkranz-Turner. He retired from Shrepco Electronics, Dayton.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, the Rev. James Duell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with Veterans Memorial Honor Guard at the graveside.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
