The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

William Meyer
William "Bill" Joseph Meyer, 63, Visalia, Calif., formerly of Minster, passed away Feb. 27, 2013, following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 9, 1949, in Piqua, to Dr. and Mrs. Roman L. Meyer, who survive in Coldwater. On Nov. 9, 1974, he married Peg Markland Meyer of Arcanum, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bryan J. (Darah Hayes) Meyer, Lakewood, Col., and Erik W. (Jammie Kohen) Meyer, Visalia, Calif.; three brothers, Jacque E. Meyer, Celina, Drs. Jeffrey A. (Anita Wells) Meyer, Weeki Wachee, Fla., and Roman R. Meyer, Coldwater; two sisters, Susan E. (Chuck) Aplin, Melbourne, Fla., and Sandra E. (Aaron) Tian, Morrisville, N.C.; two grandsons, Grayson and Rhett; and three nephews, Alex Meyer, Joe Meyer and David Meyer.
Deceased is his daughter, Denise L. Meyer.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.
He was a 1967 graduate of Coldwater High School, a 1971 Graduate of Wright State University, Dayton, with a bachelor degree in education and a 1980 graduate of Wright State University with a master's degree in education.
He taught social studies at Sidney Lehman High School in 1972-1974, third and fourth grade at Marion Local in 1975-1984 and junior high math at Minster 1984-2001.
He also coached at all three schools - football, basketball, baseball and golf.
He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and thoroughly enjoyed sharing this passion with his two sons. He loved his family, golf, teaching, traveling -especially in the western states - and was known by many of his students for his sense of humor in the classroom.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys.

A scholarship will be set up at Minster Local Schools for graduating students who demonstrate excellence in science and/or mathematics. More information will be available on the website.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia, Calif.
