The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Kenneth Henschen
Kenneth A. Henschen, 86, New Bremen, died May 6, 2013, at 7:45 p.m. at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster.
He was born Sept. 28, 1926, in New Knoxville, to Adolph and Lydia Stienecker Henschen. On June 2, 1956, he married Peggy Speckman, who survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are his children, Kathy Manbeck of New Bremen and Kent (Kathy) Henschen of Rockford, Ill.; his grandchildren, Erin (Joe) Rammel and Cody Manbeck, both of New Bremen, and Evan, Erica and Derek Henschen, all of Rockford, Ill.; his great grandchildren, Jackson and Harper Rammel; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his siblings and in-laws, Paul and Norma Henschen, Byrdell and John Talley and Marian and Lester Elshoff.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, and was also a member of the American Legion Post 241 of New Bremen. He served as a bus driver for the Auglaize School (ABC Center) in New Bremen for over 20 years, and had been the editor at the former New Bremen Sun Newspaper in New Bremen. He owned and operated KEPEG Printing Co. in New Bremen for over 60 years and developed what are known today as wedding programs used across the entire country. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II, and later served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
