The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Robert Singer
Robert E. "Bob" Singer, 89, New Weston, passed away early morning on May 10, 2013, at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.
He was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Rossburg, to August A. and Nina Smith Singer.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby F. (Sanders) Singer; sons, Jerry R. (Elaine) Singer of New Weston, Larry J. (June) Singer of Lewisburg and Kerry M. (Candi) Singer of Woodlawn, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Lois) Singer of Greenville; a sister, Margie Middleton of New Madison; sisters-in-law, Caroline Singer of Palestine, Marcella Bonifield of Salamonia, Ind., Donna Bonifield of New Weston, Dorothy Sanders of Ansonia and Alice Sanders of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jerry R. Singer Jr.; brothers, Fredrick, LeRoy, Benjamin and Carl Singer; and a sister, Marie Thwaits.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was retired from New Idea in Coldwater, where he had worked for 37 1/2 years, and was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and taking care of his lawn and pond.
Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, the Rev. John Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Twp. Memorial Gardens.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Rossburg United Methodist Church.
