The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ruth Jacobs
Ruth L. Jacobs, 92, Celina, died June 3, 2013, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born May 31, 1921, in Celina, to Frank and Jenny Fischer Alexander. On June 1, 1937, she married Arthur J. Jacobs, who died Oct. 24, 1989.
Survivors include three children, Robert Jacobs of Celina, Patricia and Robert Bullock of Lima, and Tom and Sue Jacobs of Celina; a son-in-law, Terry August of Celina; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Alexander of Celina; a sister, Eva Richie of Celina; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Alexander of Celina.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda August; and a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur (Sonia) Jacobs Jr.; sister, Fay Alexander, and brothers Harry Young and Bill Alexander.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, the Celina Eagles, American Legion and VFW auxiliaries and the Mercer County Sportsmen's Association. She retired from the former Buckeye Overall in Coldwater and formerly worked at Goodyear in St. Marys.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday and 9:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
