Mike Shinn and Carolyn Osborne, Mindi Shinn's parents, sit in the courtroom Thursday awaiting the sentencing for Daniel C. Martin.

Correction:

A person was misidentified in a cutline accompanying the story of Daniel Martin's court sentencing. The woman in the photo is Beth Shinn, the stepmother of Melinda "Mindi" Shinn, and not Carolyn Osborn, Mindi's mother.

The error was made in editing.
