The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Darwin Harter
Darwin J. Harter, 89, Fort Recovery, died Sept. 30, 2013, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.
He was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Salamonia, Ind., to Walter and Lulu Bibler Harter. On Sept. 7, 1952, he married Doris Granger, who died Oct. 29, 1990. On July 2, 1995, he married June Schultz, who died in 2001.
Surviving are a son, E. Mack (Melanie) Harter, Fort Recovery; two daughters, Elizabeth (Alvin) Lehman, Berne, Ind., and Jackie Harter, Fort Recovery; a twin brother, Donald Harter, Fort Recovery; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Harter, and two grandchildren.
He was retired from Teledyne Forge, Portland, Ind., and was caretaker for the cemetery in Salamonia, Ind. He graduated from the former Madison High School, Madison Township in Indiana, and served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Fort Recovery American Legion and the Church of the Nazarene in Fort Recovery.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Dennis Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, with military honors by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, and 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Church of the Nazarene or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
