The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Opal Pugh
Opal L. Pugh, 79, formerly of St. Marys, died at 9:30 a.m. on Oct.19, 2013, at her residence in Hudson, Fla., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Chillicothe, to Hommie Lee and Margaret (Burnette) Cooper. On Jan. 31, 1950, she married Junior O. Pugh in Richmond, Ind., and he died Nov. 16, 2009.
Survivors include four sons, Carl (Pam) Pugh, Celina, Joseph Pugh, Fayetteville, Ark., Robert (Polly) Pugh, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jesse (Susan) Pugh, Hudson, Fla.; a daughter, Nancy (Herschel) Jackson, Rose Hill, Va.; a stepdaughter, Wanda (Richard) Hartline, Tremonton, Utah; a daughter-in-law, Melodia Pugh of GFM, Guam; 18 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mona Hitchell, York, S.C.; a brother, Bob (Nancy) Cooper, Franklin, Ind.; and a half-brother, Dewey Knipp, Bethel.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Johnny Ray Pugh; a brother, Hommie Lee Cooper Jr.; a stepmother, Marie Cooper; and stepbrothers, Ronnie and Donnie Patton.
She was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the former Mom & Pop's Restaurant in St. Marys. Her favorite pastimes included camping, dancing, listening to country gospel music, gardening, floral arranging and creating handmade greeting cards.
Graveside funeral rites are 11 a.m. Saturday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Stephen Merold officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Dayton Children's Medical Center or Community Health Professionals Hospice in Celina.
