The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Velma Heitbrink
Velma A. Heitbrink, 87, Maria Stein, died at 7:37 p.m. Nov. 6, 2013, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Maria Stein, to Frederick and Stella Holdheide Clune. On Aug. 17, 1946, she married Cletus Heitbrink in Maria Stein. He died Dec. 15, 1993.
Surviving are her children, Steve (Sharon) Heitbrink, St. Sebastian, John (Margie) Heitbrink, McCartyville, Don (June) Heitbrink, Maria Stein, Mary Ellen "Pinki" (Roger) Tuente, Osgood, Jenny (Joe) Botkin, Minster, and Ann Heitbrink and Ken Rethman, Minster; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Vera Gudorf, Dayton, Ernie (Ann) Clune, Denver, Colo., Lenny (Alma) Clune, Minster and Bob (Susie) Clune, Minster; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Clune, New York, Dolores Schwieterman, Maria Stein, Lorena Vagedes, Coldwater, Bertha Heitbrink, Maria Stein, and Mary Heitbrink, Dayton.
Deceased are a daughter, Christina Heitbrink; a grandson, Jordan Heitbrink; a brother, Elmer Clune; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna (Oscar) Stueve, Dorothy (Roger) Schwieterman; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Isabelle Heuker, Cornelius Heitbrink, James (Marian) Vehorn, Thomas (Betty) Heitbrink, Arthur Vagedes, and Harry Heitbrink.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein and its Ladies Sodality of the Church, a CCD teacher, the director of religious education for 17 years and a communion distributor at church and for the homebound and nursing home residents. She was a nurse's aide and ward secretary at Coldwater Community Hospital, worked at Home Health Care Nurses Aide and volunteered at the hospital. She also was a Uniform Rank of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating.
Calling is 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9:30-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.
