The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Dwight Thompson
Dwight H. Thompson, 75, Greenville, passed away in the early morning of Jan. 21, 2014, at the Village Green Healthcare Center, Greenville.
He was born July 31, 1938, in Greenville, to Robert and Delores (Boyer) Thompson. He married Sondra Sue Reed, who died Sept. 26, 2012.
Surviving are his children, Craig (Tonia) Thompson, Greenville, and Carla (Mike) Otte, Maria Stein; grandchildren, Ashly (Josh) Shellhaas, Tasha Livingston and Nicole (Jeff) Gaylord; stepgrandchildren, Heather Shoenleben and Michael Shoenleben; a great-grandson, Mahlon Greggory Shellhaas; a brother, Joe (Cheryl) Thompson, and a sister, Linda (Kerry) Ungericht, all of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Gloria Thompson, Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Greggory Livingston; a brother, Tommy Thompson; and a sister, Dixie Beckett.
He was retired from Ramco Electric Motors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7262, American Legion Post 140, and Moose Lodge 329, all in Greenville. He had also served two terms as commissioner of the Greenville Boys Baseball and was a proud member of the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Moose Lodge holding a Lodge of Sorrow at 7:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to Greenville Veterans Honor Guard or State of the Heart Hospice.
