The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Melvin Gehron
Melvin L. Gehron, 78, New Weston, passed away April 6, 2014, at Heartland of Greenville.
He was born March 26, 1936, in Darke County, to Daniel W. and Anna May Gause Gehron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie E. Rose Gehron, who passed away Aug. 29, 2004.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Gehron, Celina, Bonnie Gehron, Laura, and Phil Gehron, North Star; grandchildren, Jennifer (Thom) Hensley, Union City, Jessica Gehron, Flint, Mich., Matthew Moehl, Greenville, and Jeanelle Gehron, Union City; a great-grandson, Ethan Moehl; sisters, Corda Leeper, North Star, and Margaret Miles, Greenville; and a brother, Willard (Karen) Gehron, North Star.
Deceased is a sister, Bernice Rhodes.
He retired from Corning of Greenville and New Idea, Coldwater. He had served in the Korean War while in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion of North Star, North Star Fire Department and Corning retirees.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, the Rev. Scott Trittschuh officiating. Full military honors will be given by the Greenville Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Ansonia Cemetery.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
