The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Dennis Denney
Dennis L. Denney, 69, Fort Recovery, died May 6, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Celina, to Maurice and Agnes Barrenbrugge Denney. On Dec. 1, 1979, he married Patricia Bagby in Las Vegas, Nev., and she survives.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Scronello, Dublin, Calif., and Staci (Todd) Hartke, Fort Recovery; two sisters, Diane (Kenneth) Denney-Winthrop, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Beth (Barry) Jones, Hillsboro; a brother, Mike (Suellen) Denney, Rochester, Ind.; and a grandson, Jacob D. Hartke.
Deceased is a son-in-law, Michael Soronello.
He was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School and formerly resided in Los Angeles, Calif., for 32 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from Hughes Aircraft in the space communication division after 28 years in El Segundo, Calif. He recently was employed part time with the village of Fort Recovery.
He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 345, Fort Recovery, and was active with Boy Scout Troop 99, Fort Recovery, where he had earned Eagle Scout rank in 1963. He enjoyed model trains and working on his model train display.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Thomas Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery, with military graveside honors by the American Legion of Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be directed to the Fort Recovery Historical Society.
