The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Alvina Peltier
Alvina A. Peltier, 94, Russia, died at 11 a.m. Aug. 2, 2014, at Versailles Health Care.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1919, in Fort Loramie, to John and Anna Meyer Holthaus. On Aug. 23, 1941, in Fort Loramie, she married Leonard Peltier, who survives in Russia.
Also surviving are five children, Phyllis Guaderrama, Westminster, Calif., Janet (Joseph) Szijarto, Oklahoma City, Okla., Roger Peltier, Versailles, Mike (Pam) Peltier, Fort Loramie, and Deborah (Jerry) Walter, Troy; a son-in-law, Bob Bernhold, Minster; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Barbara Bernhold; infant twins, Mary and Joseph; and eight siblings, Carrie Griesdorn, Emily Brackman, Lawrence Holthaus, Loretta Everman, Urban Holthaus, Gregor Holthaus, and infants Wilbur and John Leo.
She was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. She formerly worked at Mays Print Shop and Weaver Brothers. She loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening, her flowers and playing dominoes.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Remy Catholic Church, the Rev. Martin Fox officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Fort Loramie.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia.
