The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Michael Laux
Michael Laux, 64, Coldwater, died peacefully Sept. 24, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends at his home.
He was born July 27, 1950, in Celina, to Nicholas and Lavina Wagner Laux, who survive in Coldwater. On Nov. 14, 1970, he married Linda Wendel in Bryant, Ind., and she survives in Coldwater.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jill (Craig) Jenkins and Lisa (Sean) Stewart, all of Coldwater; five grandchildren, Erin, Alli and Alex Jenkins and Seth and Sarah Stewart; brothers and sisters, Dan (Kathy) Laux, Lima, Nita (Gary) Sudhoff, Sharon (Robin) McAbee, Susan (Tim) Kremer, Donna (Ken) Fisher, all of Coldwater, Janice (Larry) Muhlenkamp, Fort Recovery, and Kathy (Gary) Miller and Tim Laux, all of Celina; parents-in-laws, Bob and Virgie Wendel, Bryant, Ind.; in-laws, Jim (Carol) Wendel, Jeff (Diane) Wendel and Dennis Wendel, all of Bryant, Ind., and Dave (Carla) Wendel, Fort Recovery; and a special aunt, Helen Wagner, Coldwater.
He was a members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and a graduate of Coldwater High School and Ivy Tech, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was employed at Coldwater Machine Company as a tool and die engineer/sales account manager and took great pride in his work.
His greatest joy was providing for his family and seeing to their happiness. He enjoyed traveling to Florida with his family, watching the Cincinnati Reds and rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Jeff Gordon.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 1-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
