The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Joann Barhorst
Joann D. Keller Barhorst, 76, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes Sept. 30, 2014, at her residence.
She was born March 13, 1938, in Burkettsville, to the late Linus and Josephine Knapke Keller. On Feb. 7, 1959, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, she married Ernest W. Barhorst, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Karen (Steven) Sahle, Springfield, Cynthia (Ronald) Borges, Minster, Nancy (Jeffrey) Monnin, Russia, and Gerald (Brenda) Barhorst, St. Henry; nine grandchildren, David (Gina) Hurley, Andrew (Lisa) Borges, Maria Huber (Kyle) Walterbusch, Douglas Huber and Ryan, Michaela, Derreck and Jerod Barhorst; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Carter and Maura; three siblings, Imogene "Jean" Hart, St. Henry, Waveline Selhorst, Coldwater, and Luke (Jayne) Keller, Burkettsville; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Princes Keller, Celina, Alma Mangen, St. Marys, Norma Koverman, Van Wert, Carl (Eileen) Barhorst, Fort Loramie, and Joan Vondenhuevel, Minster.
Deceased are two brothers, Hubert "Bud" and Raymond Keller; two brothers-in-law, John Hart and Herbert Selhorst; and a sister-in-law, Kay Keller.
She was retired from Crown Equipment in New Bremen since 2002. She also had been a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She also was a volunteer for FISH, Heritage Manor and the church. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks, bike rides, fishing and following her grandchildren's sporting events.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m., Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
