The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Steven Putman
Steven O. Putman, N8ZR, 58, Fairborn, died Oct. 5, 2014, at the Soin Medical Center, Beavercreek.
He was born Jan. 6, 1956, in Pontiac, Mich., to Orby K. and Eudora Bartz Putman. His father died Nov. 19, 1999, and his mother survives in Fairborn.
Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Carl (Mary Jane) Putman, New Haven, Ind., Joan (Leonard) Barry, Sun City, Ariz., Norma Putman, Spencerville, Verne C. (Marilyn Sue) Bartz, Van Wert, Lucy Bartz, Middle Point, and Robert Koenig, New Bavaria, and many cousins.
Also deceased are a brother, Jeffrey K. Putman; and aunts and uncles, Robert (Maxine) Putman, Eugene (Iris) Putman, Howard Putman, Curtis Bartz, Charles (Marian) Carey, Don (Wilma) Parker and Lola Koenig.
He earned a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University and master's degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Dayton. He was a professional engineer and had retired from the Defense Acquisition University, through which he had taught management classes all over the U.S.
He was a member and past president of the Fairborn Shrine Club and a member of Fairborn Masonic Lodge 711 and the Dayton Antioch Shrine. He had worked every year for the Antioch Shrine Circus. He also was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League and the Dayton Amateur Radio Association. He was baptized in the Christian Church of Christ.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, Pastor Craig Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
