The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ray Jarrells
Ray "Rebel" A. Jarrells, 83, New Knoxville, died at 4:53 a.m. Oct. 23, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Nolan, W.Va., to Dee and Iva Sparks Jarrells. On Dec. 22, 1949, in Pikeville, Ky., he married Wanda L. Cook, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Phillip (Cora) Jarrells, Wapakoneta, David Jarrells, St. Marys, Jonathon (Lou Anne) Jarrells, New Knoxville, and Timothy (Pam) Jarrells, Wapakoneta; two daughters, Rae Ann Roettger, New Knoxville, and Kathleen "Kitty" (Randy) Sunderland, New Knoxville; nine grandsons, Michael Jarrells, Steven Jarrells, Matthew Jarrells, Scott Jarrells, Mark Jarrells, Robert Jarrells, Andrew Roettger, Kevin Sunderland and Jared Sunderland; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joann Bailey, Montpelier; and a sister-in-law, Norma Jarrells, Wapakoneta.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Iva Kay Jarrells; two brothers, Tunis Jarrells and James Jarrells; and two sisters, Jackie Brogan and June Christian.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He retired after 40 years as a production employee for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys. He also served as division chairman of URW Local 200 for many years.
His favorite pastimes included woodworking and playing guitar. Always putting his family first, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is remembered as a generous man who was sensitive to the needs of others. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Rites are 10:30 a.m. Oct. 28, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home, west chapel, St. Marys, the Rev. Michael Westbay officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
