The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Dale Schmackers
Dale P. "Smoke" Schmackers, 54, Carthagena, died Nov. 10, 2014, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born July 6, 1960, in Coldwater, to the late Victor and Mary Ann Reigelsperger Schmackers. On May 7, 1983, at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, he married Susan Arling, who survives in Carthagena.
Also surviving are two children, Josh (Liz) Schmackers, St. Henry, and Rachel (Ryan) Winner, Dublin; three grandchildren, Lucas and Nicholas Schmackers, and Julian Winner; six siblings, Rich (Marty) Schmackers, St. Henry, Elaine (Gene) Grube, Fort Recovery, Janice (Jerry) Buschur, St. Henry, Nancy (Denny) Muhlenkamp, Montezuma, Joyce (Dave) Bruns, St. Henry, and Roger (Angie) Schmackers, Fort Recovery; mother- and father-in-law, Urban and Irma Arling, North Star; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Steve (Tammie) Arling of Pennsylvania, Dan Arling, North Star, Jean (Buddy) Hyman, Coldwater, Deb (Keith) Hartzell, Versailles, Beck (Glenn) Miller, St. Henry, Paula (Keith) Rammel, North Star, and Rob (Jennifer) Arling, Arcanum.
Deceased is a brother, Gary Schmackers.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Carthagena, St. Henry Knights of Columbus, Mercer County Elks and the Celina Moose. He worked for Columbus Financial Group.
During his journey in life, he found, served and loved Jesus Christ. He also loved his wife, his children, his three grandsons, his brothers, sisters and other family members and his many friends.
He was known as an avid fisherman, gardener, card player and golfer. He rarely knew a stranger and brought so much love, joy and laughter to so many lives.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
