The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Gertrude Dicke
Gertrude L. Dicke, 84, St. Marys, died 3:25 a.m. Dec. 20, 2014, at St. Marys Living Center.
She was born May 3, 1930, in Hiram, to Hurley and Flossie Henry Hibbs. She was married to Florience "Dick" Dicke, who died May 21, 2014.
Surviving are three sons, Eric (Jane) Johansen, Indianapolis, Ind., John (Kathy) Johansen, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Quinton Johansen, Plainville, Conn.; three stepsons, Michael (Mona Sordelet) Dicke, St. Marys, Larry (Jennifer) Dicke, New Knoxville, and Ray (Marilou) Dicke, St. Marys; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Dicke, Milwaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia Baker, Ravenna, and Peggy (Jack) Fleming, Rittman.
Also deceased are a sister, Dorothy Velma Hibbs, and a step-son, Rudolph Dicke.
She was a 1948 graduate of Mantua Center High School. She was a farm wife and also retired from State Farm Insurance Service Center, Lima, where she was an administrative assistant. She had previously worked at Freuhauf Corp. in Delphos.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, and the Auglaize County Council on Aging. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, dancing and participating in activities at the senior citizens' center.
Rites are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller–Long and Folk Funeral Home, High Street chapel, St. Marys, the Rev. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 9–11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys.
