The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Leo Berning
Leo A. Berning, 77, St. Rose, passed away on Jan. 1, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 5, 1938, in Sidney, to Philip and Martha Hoelscher Berning, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are five children, Lorraine Rauh, David L. Berning, Connie (Lewis) James, Karen (Chris) Valentine and Mark (Kristian) Berning; six grandchildren, Michael Rauh, Jessica Rauh, Melissa Rauh, Victoria Valentine, Gabrielle Valentine and Lauren Berning; four siblings, James (Carol) Berning, Richard (Mary) Berning, Norbert (Karen) Berning and Betty (Ray) Schulze; and a brother-in-law, Johe Schwieterman.
Also deceased is a a sister, Pat Schwieterman.
He was the owner of Leo Berning Insurance. He was an avid hunter and loved to walk through the woods and drive down old roads looking for deer. He also enjoyed playing cards and hanging out with family and friends.
Prayer services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Ft. Loramie, deacon Clif Perryman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
