The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Edmond Flinn
Edmond L. Flinn, 87, a longtime resident of Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Otterbein Saint Marys.
He was born April 17, 1927, in Houston, Ohio, the son of Norris and Nellie (Wick) Flinn. On October 30, 1948, he married Helen Given, and she preceded him in death on October 8, 1999.
He is survived by four children: James (Cathy) Flinn of Saint Marys; Tim (Vikki) Flinn of Saint Marys; Linda (Douglas) Boysell of Saint Marys; Rhonda Hawkins of Celina. He is survived by six grandchildren: Chase Flinn; Cullen Flinn; Karrie Hughes; Aaron Boysell; Aimee Pellegrino; Jessie Wicker. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and by a brother, Donald Flinn of Vandalia, Ohio. He is survived by his longtime friend, Shirley Bollenbacher of Bryant, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two children: Bruce and Jeff Flinn; by a brother, Arthur Flinn; by a daughter-in-law, Karen Flinn.
Edmond was a 1945 graduate of Houston High School. Edmond was a very skilled baseball player and was scheduled to play with the New York Giants. That dream ended when he was drafted into the US Navy in 1945, and served as a Navy Seabee in Guam. He played baseball for many years after his discharge from the Navy in the Greater Ohio League.
He continued his long affiliation with baseball by serving as a Saint Marys Little League team manager of many years. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing. He was a member of VFW Post 9289, and the funeral honor guard of the Post.
He retired from Goodyear Saint Marys, after 40 years of service as a press operator.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Ohio, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Houston Cemetery, Houston, Ohio.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the Partners in Care Fund of Otterbein Saint Marys.
