The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Sam Blythe
Sam B. Blythe, 76, of rural Spencerville, died at 7:06 PM Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Van Wert County Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born October 4, 1938 in Spencer Twp., Allen County, the son of Kenny and Junia Harsh Blythe, who are deceased. On December 18, 1965 he married Phyllis M. Snavely, who died January 6, 2002. Then on December 10, 2005 he married Phyllis Collins, who survives in Spencerville.
Also surviving are his son Brent (Brittney Wienken) Blythe of Spencerville and his step-children; Teresa Lynn Moeller and Marcia Leigh (John) Elliott, both of Lima and Penny (Jeff) Kill of Spencerville; 6 grandchildren; Taylor Blythe of Lima, Christi (Matt) McGuire of Sarasota, FL., Corrie Doty of Lima, Kasey Doty of Atlanta, GA., Justin Elliott of Lima, Holly (Jeremy) Portwine of Westchester, OH, Jordan Elliott of Cincinnati, Ashley Kill of Spencerville and Brittany Kill of Luddington, MI.; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters; Mary Ann (Paul) Ewing and Betsy (Rob) Youngpeter, both of Spencerville.
A step grandson Thomas William Collins preceded him in death.
Sam was a 1956 graduate of Spencerville High School and was a life-long farmer in the area. He had also attended the Ohio State University for 2 years in Agriculture and also served in the Ohio National Guard. He was very active in the FFA program and earned the Ohio State Farmer Degree and enjoyed working with the Young Farmers Group. He had served several years as a Spencer Twp. Trustee and had attended the Southside Christian Church in Lima.
Funeral services will be l0:30 AM Saturday in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville with Revs. David W. Howell and Justin M. Fuhrmann officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 PM Thursday and 2 until 8 PM Friday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville and after 9:30 AM Saturday at church.
Memorials may be made to the Spencerville Veterans Memorial Park.
