The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Nellie Hamilton
Nellie Mae Hamilton, age 93, of Mendon, passed away Monday morning, May 2, 2016, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
Born on June 25, 1922 in Cincinnati, she was a daughter of the late John and Nevillia Apgar Hunsaker. She married John Roscoe Hamilton on July 6, 1942, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2006.
Surviving are 7 children: Jim (Sharon) Hamilton, Dan Hamilton, Bill (Barb) Hamilton and Ken Hamilton, all of Mendon, Suzanne Sharpe of Spencerville, and Don (Kathy) Hamilton and Esther Hamilton, both of Coldwater, 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, 5 sisters: Rose Moser of Celina, Evelyn (George) Chiles of St. Marys, Helen (Ken) Eckhart of New Bremen, Wanda Miller of Minster, and Juanita Dalrymple of Columbus, a sister-in-law: Helen Hunsaker of Celina, and a brother-in-law: Kenny Sawmiller of Spencerville.
Preceding her in death was a son, Gary Hamilton, 4 brothers and sisters: Mary Sawmiller, June (Dale) Clutter, Bud (Mandy) Hunsaker and Gene Hunsaker, and 3 brothers-in-law: Warren Moser, Clyde Miller Jr. and Jay Dalrymple.
A homemaker, Nellie had also worked for a short time at the cigar factory in St. Marys, and at the Huffy Bicycle Plant in Celina. She was a member of Hamilton-Bethel United Methodist Church, near Mendon. She liked to crochet, and making and collecting dolls. For many years, Nellie and her husband enjoyed spending their winters in Frostproof, Florida.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 6 at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Bethel Cemetery, near Mendon.
Calling Hours are from 3-7:00 P.M., Thursday, May 5, and 10-11:00 A.M. on Friday, at the Mendon Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
