The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Livestock grand, reserve champions sell at auction

The grand champion steer, shown by Mercer County Junior Cattlemen's Association member Mitch Siefring, son of Neil and Mary, sold Thursday at the Mercer County Fair for $5,800 to a group including Farm Credit Service, Helena Chemical Co., Lefeld Plumbing and Heating, Overman Trucking, Florence Livestock, C-Town Wings, Otte Ag LLC, Kahlig Brothers Custom Pumping, Farmers Grain's Ag LLC, Homestead Quality Bedding, LG Seed-Neil Siefring, Roger Snyder Livestock, State Rep. Jim Buchy, Knapke Livestock, St. Henry Tile Co., Cooper Farms, Heitkamp Crop Insurance, Kenn-Feld Group, Mercer County Electric, DM Service & Repair LLC, Seth & Amanda Kohnen, Menke Consulting, Tobing Farms Liquid Manure Hauling and Farm Credit Services of Versailles.
