The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Macie MaKaila Preston, 19, Arcanum, Ohio; formerly of Ohio City, Ohio, died early Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 in Miami County, Ohio.
She was born July 26, 1997, in Coldwater, Ohio. Her mother and stepfather are Kerrie & Andrew (Kittle) Placke, Ohio City, Ohio, and her father is Mark Preston, Arcanum, Ohio.
She also is survived by maternal grandparents: Terry & Charlene Kittle, Celina, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Ray & Carol Preston, Arcanum, Ohio; and step paternal grandparents, Gene & Ruth Placke, Findlay, Ohio; brothers: Christopher (Katie) Placke, Troy, Ohio; Jimmy "Bubba" Turner, Dayton, Ohio; sisters: Kelsie Preston, Middle Point, Ohio; Audrianna Placke, Ohio City, Ohio; Crystal Placke, Brookville, Ohio; Lily Preston, Arcanum, Ohio; Madison Preston- Arcanum, Ohio.
Deceased is a brother, Jacob Turner.
She attended Crestview High School; was involved with cheer; 4-H, F.F.A., AWANA, played youth soccer, ran track and played softball for Wren.
Calling is 11:00 AM-2:00 PM and 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday June 8, 2017 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio. Also, one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
Services are 10:30 AM Friday June 9, 2017 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio. Additional services will be held in Greenville, Ohio, at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to Macie's nephew, Hendrix, or The Equestrian Therapy Program at Fassett Farm.
