CELNA - State Sen. Matt Huffman, R-Lima, says he plans to introduce legislation this fall that would change the way the state funds a majority of local county governments.
Under Huffman's proposal, the state would cover the election and indigent defense costs of 68 of Ohio's 88 counties in lieu of issuing local government funds to county governments. Municipalities and townships, though, would continue to receive their share of local funds. [More]
