The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Gary Heitkamp
Gary J. Heitkamp, age 70, of Montezuma, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born February 3, 1947 to the late Urban & Alvina (Kemper) Heitkamp in Minster, Ohio. On July 3, 1993 he married Jane (Moeller) Heitkamp and she survives in Montezuma.
Gary is also survived by children: Brad & Julie Heitkamp of Bellbrook, Brian & Kristina Heitkamp of Dayton, Jackie & Brian Brackman of Ft. Recovery, Tracy & Mike Knopp of Yellow Springs, and Rob & Tera Huffman of Worthington; grandchildren: Will, Adeline, Noah, Avery, Harlow, Savannah, Asher, Magdalyn, Lilyan, Jackson, Rhett, Ridge and Cort; siblings: Don & Shirley Heitkamp of Minster, Mary Jane & Duane Bachman of Piqua; and in-laws Barb Heitkamp of New Bremen, Judy Heitkamp of St. Henry, Betty & Jim Harting, Ft. Collins, CO, Dan & Lucy Moeller, Maria Stein, Charles Moeller, Cape Coral, FL, Pat & Sue Moeller, Maria Stein, Mary & Carl Albers, Minster, Lavern & Nancy Moeller, Montezuma, Kris Rutschilling, Montezuma, Therese & Robert Wilson, Camden, NY, Donna & Terry Temple, Montezuma, and Melvin & Susie Moeller, Montezuma, and in-laws Barb Moeller of St. Henry, Larry Albers, Minster, Giles Ronnebaum, Montezuma, and Richard Rindler, Montezuma.
Gary is preceded in death by siblings: Ken & Veronica Heitkamp, Larry Heitkamp, Terry Heitkamp; in laws, Carolyn Albers, Eileen Ronnebaum, Virginia Rindler, John Moeller, Rhonda Moeller, Orville Meyer, and Dale Hinders.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Coldwater American Legion Color Guard, Celina Moose, Celina Eagles and the South Shore Sportsman's Club. Gary was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam and retired from Minster Machine.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
