The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Malinda Jo Thornton
Malinda Jo Thornton, 59 of St. Marys, Ohio passed away on Friday January 26, 2018 at her residence in St. Marys, surrounded by her loving Family.
She was born on August 5, 1958 in Celina Ohio to William and Shirley (Goodwin) Moorman. On May 26th, 2007 she married Tim Thornton, who survives in St. Marys.
Malinda Jo is also survived by her children; Matthew (Kate) Spring of Celina, Sheena (Christian) Maurer of Hanahan, S.C., Jessica Thornton of Union City, TN, three beautiful grandchildren Elijah Spring, Isaiah Spring and Adeline Spring, her sisters and brothers-in-law; Beverly Morris of St. Marys, Linda (Jim) Monroe of Celina, Lisa (Dan) Smith of Celina, Judy (Harry) Bean of Celina, brothers and sisters-in-law Bill (Darlene) Moorman of Manhattan, KS and Steve Moorman of Celina.
She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters Karen Moorman, Coreen Moorman and her brother Joseph Moorman.
Malinda Jo was a 1977 graduate of Celina High School. She graduated with honors in 1998 from Wright State University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She was formerly employed at Huffy's in Celina and Goodyear in St. Marys.
Malinda Jo was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and the Moose Lodge #1473 as well as Women of the Moose, Lodge #388 in Celina and a member of United Steelworkers Local #200L Women of Steel, in St. Marys. Collecting china tea cups and old hats was her favorite past-time. Malinda Jo enjoyed her fishing and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on January 31, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Fr. Vince Wirtner C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday January 30, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
