The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Edna McCollum
Edna Annabelle McCollum, 83, of St. Marys, OH went to be with her Lord and Savior 5:40 a.m. Friday February 16, 2018 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, OH.
She was born November 29, 1934 in Celina, OH to Gilbert and Ida (John) Longsworth. On May 2, 1952, "Annabelle" married the love of her life John Franklin McCollum, who died November 1, 2008.
Survivors include: daughter Cheryl (Rev. Alva) Daniel of St. Marys, OH; son Michael (Lori) McCollum of Lima, OH; son Larry (Carey) McCollum of St. Marys, OH; son Thomas (fiance' Sheila Dammeyer) of St. Marys, OH; son Robert McCollum of Cincinnati, OH; daughter Lisa (Darrell) Wilder of Van Wert, OH; 14 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; and sister Evelyn Hoover of Coldwater, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Gilbert and Ida Longsworth; husband John McCollum; son Donald McCollum (1995); grandson Brian Daniel; granddaughter Monica McCollum; great-grandson Nathaniel Robert Wilder; great-granddaughter Ella Adeline Wilder; brother Dale Longsworth; brother Donald Eugene "Bud" Longsworth; brother Carl Longsworth; brother Wilson Longsworth; sister Maxine Jackson; sister Onolee Pugh.
She retired in 1995 from JTDM Hospital in St. Marys, having worked 17 years in the housekeeping department.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in St. Marys, where she shared her fondness for music by singing in the church choir. She attended faithfully for more than fifty years and took all her children with her, until she was no longer able to attend, due to illness. Her favorite pastimes included listening to music, fishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rites are scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 2, 218 at Miller Funeral Home 165 Celina Road (Ohio 73 West Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Keith Stuck and the Rev. Alva Daniel will co-officiate the services.
Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. Visitation 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
