The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Betty Darland
Betty Darland, age 91, of Burkettsville, Ohio, died on March 14, 2018, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
She was born December 13, 1926, in Minster, OH, to the late Frank and Lena (Moorman) Hierholzer. On October 13, 1951, she married the late William Darland, who died February 17, 1974.
Surviving are three children, Dean (Nancy) Darland of Lakeland, FL, Neil (Pam) Darland of Burkettsville, OH and Jessie (Deanne) Darland of Burkettsville, OH; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosella Moorman of St. Henry, OH and Dorothy Hierholzer of Sidney, OH; in-laws, Dora Jane Waymire of New Madison, OH, Susie Applegate of Urbana, OH, Karen Darland of Zephyrhills, FL and Bill Troutwine of Mechanicsburg, OH.
Deceased are siblings, Walter Hierholzer, Danny Hierholzer and Virginia (Paul) Olding.
Betty enjoyed gardening and was an avid bingo player. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, Ohio, with Fr. William O'Donnell officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
