The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Beatrice Gast
Beatrice Ann Gast, age 91, of St. Henry, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born February 19, 1927 in Coldwater, to the late Paul J. & Anna M. (Boeckman) Froning. On November 4, 1950 she married James W. Gast and he died March 1, 2007.
She is survived by her children: Dr. Thomas Gast of Bloomington, IN, Susan & Paul Wirtz of Worthington, Paula & Rocket Rengers of St. Henry, Joseph Gast of Seattle, WA, Daniel & Beck Gast of Celina, eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Bea is also survived by in laws: Geri Gast, Joan & Mark Wenning, and Jean & Jack Bergman all of St. Henry, and John Gast of Ft. Meyers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Thomas Froning, Maurice Froning, and Dr. Louis Froning, and in laws, Bill Gast, Robert Gast, Marge Gast, and Marty Gast.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Altar Rosary Sodality. Bea formerly worked in Inventory Control for the former New Idea plant in Coldwater.
In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, playing golf and tennis. Bea loved playing cards, the piano, which she did for both ladies groups at church, and was an avid reader. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, and that she always had a good joke to share.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 27, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
