The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Phyllis Snyder
Phyllis A. Snyder, 84, of St. Marys, OH died 7:33 p.m. Tuesday July 24, 2018 at Otterbein-St. Marys.
She was born April 1, 1934 in Mercer, OH to Merritt and Mildred (Sprague) Archer. On April 11, 1954, she married Carl "Jack" Snyder, who died September 9, 1991.
Survivors include: son Greg (Cindy) Snyder of St. Marys, OH; daughter Kim (Tim) Parker of St. Marys, OH; 5 grandchildren: Laura (Jason) Reier, Brian (Liz) Parker, Joshua Parker, Ashley (Eric) Dean, Ethan Snyder; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy (Floyd) Anspaugh of Mendon, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Merritt and Mildred Archer; husband Carl "Jack" Snyder.
She was a graduate of Mendon High School (Class of 1952). She had worked as Branch Manager of Home Banking Co. and Society Bank in St. Marys.
An active member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, she had served as Youth Director, Sunday School teacher and as chairperson of its funeral luncheon committee for many years. She had also served as a volunteer mentor in the reading program at West Elementary School in St. Marys. In addition, she volunteered countless hours for AGAPE Ministries in St. Marys.
Faith and family were the cornerstones of Phyllis' life. She was most happy when volunteering for her church or being involved with the activities of her grandchildren. An avid gardener, she was respected for her ability to grow beautiful roses.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2018 at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Timothy Benjamin and the Rev. Bev Hurlburt, co-officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to either: Grand Lake Hospice, Otterbein Skilled Nursing Unit or Wayne Street UMC Building Fund.
