The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Mary Jo Jansen
Mary Jo Jansen, age 77, of Dayton, passed away Monday, August 14, 2018 at Elmcroft of Xenia.
She was born December 21, 1940 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Jacob & Mary (Goubeaux) Beyke. On May 8, 1965 she married Thomas Jansen and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2009.
She is survived by her children: John Jansen of Dayton, Joe Jansen of Miamisburg, Theresa & Jeff Grieshop of Dayton, and Anne Jansen of Dayton. Mary Jo is also survived by her grandson Caleb Grieshop, as well as siblings: John Beyke of Egypt, Ray & Betty Beyke of Greenville, Betty & Jim Garke of Burkettsville, Jerry & Judy Beyke of St. Henry, Jay & Ann Beyke of St. Henry, Tom & Esther Beyke of St. Henry, Jane Beyke of Burkettsville, Dan & Deb Beyke of St. Sebastian, and Mark & Ruth Beyke of Ft. Recovery.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ann Jansen, and a sister-in-law, Rose Beyke.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Dayton. She was a homemaker and was a child care provider. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, embroidery, laughing, playing hearts, and especially spending time with her grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday, August 17, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, or to Hospice of Dayton.
