The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Herb Meeds
Herb Meeds, age 89 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday Oct. 10, 2018 at the Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born the son of the late Elvy and Mamie (Sheets) Meeds, on Oct. 13, 1928 in North Star, Ohio. On January 29, 1956 he married his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy E. Shade, whom survives, living in Celina.
Also surviving are his two children Pamela Meeds and Scott Nell of Statesville, N.C. and Ronald Meeds and Sally Kane of Celina. Herb has two brothers and sister-in-law Russell Meeds of Dayton and Robert and Ina Meeds of Greenville.
Preceding him in death were his daughter-in-law Deborah Meeds, two brothers and sisters-in-law Otis (Lila) Meeds, Paul (Mary) Meeds, Norma Meeds, and his sister and brother-in-law Glenna (Oscar) Figel.
Herb served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of the Union City Body Works, in Union City, Indiana and retired from the Miller Brothers Construction Company in Archbold, Ohio. He enjoyed the family farm, coached baseball for several years in Celina and was an avid Deer Hunter.
A private memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday Oct.16, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Burial will follow in the North Grove Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and the Celina V. F.W. Post #5713.
