The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Thomas Searles
Thomas Ryan Searles, 31, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly at 3:45 AM, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born August 6, 1987 to Carolyn Sue (Williams) Searles and Tommy M. Searles. Thomas married Melissa J. Haddox on August 18, 2009.
As a music lover, Thomas played drums and used to rap free-style. He was an adrenalin junkie and thrill seeker that always pushed the limits, whether it was riding ATV's, skateboarding off of the roof, or giving his mother a good scare. A practical jokester, Thomas always made others laugh. He adored his children and was a family man.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Searles of Rockford; children: Kiera M Searles of Warren, IN; Kaden T. Searles; Christian R. Searles, both of Celina; mother, Carolyn Sue Searles of Rockford; father, Tommy M. Searles, address unknown; brother, Matthew (Devyn Murphy) Searles of Van Wert; nephew, Zackary S. Price of Celina.
Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Wendy S. Parker and brother, Tyler Mitchell Searles.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory with Christophoros Pickens officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 2, 2019, prior to the service, from 11 to 1 PM at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
