The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Richard Armstrong
Richard E. Armstrong, 97, of Saint Marys, died Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Otterbein Saint Marys Retirement Community.
He was born August 28, 1921, the son of Edward and Louetta (Lietz) Armstrong. He married Dorothy W. Delafield on November 13, 1942, in Celina; she preceded him in death in January, 1993.
He is survived by his children: Alan (Victoria) Armstrong of Ashland, Oregon; Mary Lou (Dennis) Pierce of Great Falls, Montana; John (Anna) Armstrong of Crystal Lake, Illinois. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren: Thomas (Adeline) Armstrong of Walla Walla, Washington; John (Jessie) Armstrong of Corvallis, Oregon; Nathan (Dana) Armstrong of Chicago, Illinois; Michael (Tammy) Armstrong of Des Moines, Iowa; by 5 great-grandchildren: Alice, Arthur, Hayden; Ryan; and Vivian.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie (Clinton) Miller; by his wife; by his parents.
Dick was a 1941 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He served in the Philippines aboard a US Navy destroyer escort in World War II. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Saint Marys, after 40 years of service as a supervisor.
Dick was an active member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys. He enjoyed reading, watching the Reds and OSU Buckeyes, and volunteering at AGAPE Ministries. He received the Builder of Bridges Award.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, Saint Marys, the Reverend Jeanette Tangeman, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral rites at the church.
