The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Adrian Homan
Adrian L. Homan age 47 of Philothea died Thursday June 6th at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. He was born on January 5th 1972 in Portland, IN to Marcella (Eischen) Homan and the late Arnold Homan.
His mother survives in Philothea. Adrian is also survived by siblings and in-laws, Geraldine & Dennis Prost of Rochester Hills, MI, Martin Homan of West Alexandria, Dominic Homan of Gadsden, AL, Philip & Christy Homan of Fort Recovery, Lisa & Joseph Reinhard of Bryant, IN, as well as 10 nieces and nephews: Mary Beth, Paula, Ryan, Jacob, Sarah, Cassie, Conner, Jason, Joshua, and Jami.
In addition to his father, Adrian is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Kari Homan.
Adrian was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Philothea. He worked 17 years for the Jay County Surveyors Office. He loved nature and gardening and getting plants to grow, as well as playing and working with his beloved dog, Shep. He was always there to help anyone in a time of need.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday June 10th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Philothea. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Philothea. Friends may call Sunday June 9th, 1-6 PM at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
