The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Catherine Holthaus
Catherine "Katie" Ann Holthaus, age 89, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes late Friday afternoon, December 20, 2019, at Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney, Ohio.
She was born October 11, 1930, in Fort Loramie, Ohio, to the late Bernard and Caroline (Prenger) Holthaus.
She was also preceded in death by seven siblings and their spouses: Alfred & Mary Holthaus, Marcellus Holthaus, Lester Holthaus, Victor Holthaus, Bernard & Ruth Holthaus, Mary Holthaus (sister-in-law), Rita Holthaus and Anthony & Roseann Holthaus.
Catherine is survived by numerous nieces & nephews as well as great nieces & great nephews.
Catherine was a graduate of Fort Loramie High School. She was a homemaker and had been a dedicated caregiver for her family. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She had also been an Apostleship of Prayer Promoter. In her leisure time, Katie enjoyed crocheting.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 26, 2019, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday 9:00 to10:30 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to Wilson Health Hospice or charities of choice.
