The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Alice Pohlman
Alice R. Pohlman age 99 of Maria Stein, Ohio passed away at 1:10 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born January 5, 1921 in Willowdell, Ohio to the late Joseph & Rose (Koesters) Meyer. She married Albert H. Pohlman on October 15, 1942 at St. Peter & Paul Church, Newport, Ohio. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1996.
She is survived by children: Rosie Wermert, Sidney, Joann & Gene Epperly, Versailles, Joseph & Diane Pohlman, Cassella, Kathy & Gary Schwieterman, Celina, Leroy & Paulette Pohlman, Maria Stein, Martha & Ted Moorman, Coldwater, Marilyn Broerman, Pontiac, IL, John & Nancy Pohlman, Maria Stein, Cindy & Marvin Bruns, St. Henry, Diana & Brian Sprague, New Bremen, 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law Carl Wermert, 3 grandchildren: Chris Wermert, Curt Wermert & Nicole Pohlman, brothers & sisters: Sister Anna Meyer, C.PP.S., Mary Meyer, Albert & Josephine Meyer, Lawrence & Lauretta Meyer, Joseph & Rose Meyer, Clara & Norbert DeLoye, Emma Meyer, Edward & Margaret Meyer, Urban & Vera Meyer, Wilfred & Mary Meyer.
Alice was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, St. Anne's Ladies Sodality and the Knights of St. John Auxiliary. She was a member of the Farm Bureau Council.
Alice enjoyed sewing, crafts, Bingo and playing cards. She had a special love for animals.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at Precious Blood Church, Chickasaw with Rev. Tom Brenberger, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein.
Friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020 and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Briarwood Village Activity Fund.
