The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Alice Weitzel
Alice H. Weitzel, age 89, formerly of Osgood, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born March 3, 1931 in Yorkshire, to the late Joseph & Anna (Klingshirn) Hoehne. On May 5, 1956 she married Julius Weitzel and he passed November 25, 1998.
Alice is survived by children and in-laws: Donald & Marie Weitzel of St. Henry, John & Sandra Weitzel of Minster, Karen & Brian Clune of Maria Stein, and Dan Echols of Findlay. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Scott & Brittany Weitzel, Tina & Kris Ambos, Brad Echols, Brandon Weitzel, Austi & T.J. Bernard, Derick & Kristine Kramer, Melisha & Kent Jansen, Kyle Kramer, and Skyler Clune, 8 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and a sister Alma Timmerman of Coldwater.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice is preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Echols, and siblings and in-laws: Rita Hoehne (deceased as a child), Marie & Henry Dircksen, Norb & Rita Hoehne, Louis Timmerman, Aloys & Sally Weitzel, Arthur & Vita Weitzel, Lawrence & Marie Weitzel, Joe & Eva Weitzel, Dick & Betty Weitzel, Lorena & Wilbert Boeckman, Alvina & Art Rindler, Dorothy & Herbert Timmerman, Mary Ann & Clete Weitzel, and Edna & Luke Rose.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood and the Ladies Sodality. Alice grew up in Yorkshire and attended Minster High School. She worked for many years as an aid at the nursing home in Minster, and also cared for her mother. She enjoyed cooking and canning and fishing.
  A Funeral Mass following all CDC guidelines will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 22, 2021 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood. Friends may call from 9-10 am on Friday, January 22, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
