The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ruth Moeller
Ruth L. Moeller, age 100 of New Bremen, died on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 8:45 P.M. at the Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen, where she had been residing for the past few years.
She was born on February 4, 1920 in Continental, OH. She was the daughter of the late Manford M. and Pearl M. (Power) Hazelton.
On October 19, 1946 she married J. Thomas "Tom" Moeller who died on August 23, 1993.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Robert and Lisa Moeller of New Bremen and her brother in law and sister in law James and Pat Moeller of New Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother and sister in law Robert and Lucille Hazelton.
Ruth was a graduate of Continental High School and a 1941 graduate of the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati. She served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in the Philippines, caring for others by using her skills as a nurse. After returning home from the service, she met her husband at the dance hall at the Russells Point Amusement Park. She continued working in the nursing profession, retiring from Joint Twp. Dist. Mem. Hospital in St. Marys after over 25 years of service.
Ruth generously donated her body to the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine for the intense study and specialized training of current medical students and future physicians.
Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date with inurnment at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Memorial contributions in memory of Ruth can be made to the Grand Lake Hospice at 1122 E. Spring St., St. Marys, OH 45885.
