The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Darlene Uncapher
Darlene Kay Uncapher (Vann), 61, of Rockford passed away at 10:53 AM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at her residence.
She was born on October 5, 1959, in Celina, the daughter of the late William Austin "Bud" and Bernice Gwendolyn Uncapher.
Darlene was a 1977 graduate of Mendon Union High School. She worked in retail and restaurant management, most recently, at Dollar General. Darlene was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Rainbow Girls. She had a love for softball, enjoyed boating on Laurel River Lake in Kentucky with her family and, most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Michael S. Vann of Rockford; her daughters, Amber (Tim) Smith, Ashley Vann, and Sheila (fiancé, Matt Elston) Vann; brothers, Elmer Dennis "Sam" (Deb) Uncapher and Steven Austin (Jo) Uncapher; a sister, Marcia (Tom) Miller; her grandchildren, Dilon, Montana, Rylee, Raegan, Katie, Caden, Bricen, Owen, Makenzie, Payten, Brantley, Braelynn and Blakely; a brother-in-law, Kerry Burrington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Eric Lee (April) Vann; a granddaughter, Aubry; and a sister, Janet Sue Uncapher.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Mendon United Methodist Church, Mendon, Ohio with Pastor Rob Glenn, officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, Ohio. Also, one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Darlene's family would like to thank her niece, Breanne Uncapher (River), and nephew, Tom Millisor, for the special care they offered during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Darlene's memory may be sent to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, 218 S. Main St, Celina, Ohio 45822.
