The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Rosemary May
Rosemary "Rosie" C. May, 91, of Fort Recovery, died February 19, 2022, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born July 31, 1930, in Mercer County, to the late Henry and Mary (Homan) Fortkamp. On November 24, 1949, she married the late Wilfred "Bud" May, who died February 19, 2010.
Surviving are her children, Mike (Sue) May of Fort Recovery, Ron (Pat) May of Fort Recovery, Bob May of Fort Recovery, and Phyllis Thobe of Maria Stein; twelve grandchildren; twenty- eight great grandchildren; siblings, Bernice Poling of Coldwater, Alice Steinke of FL, LaVern (Elaine) Fortkamp of Dayton; in-laws, Howard (Donna) May of St. Henry, Charlene May of New Weston, Ruth (Henry) Kunkler of Burkettsville, Walt (Irene) May of St. Henry, and Lou Ann May of St. Henry.
In addition to her late husband, "Bud", and her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim Thobe, great grandchild, Paige Thobe; siblings, Rita (Jim) Zehringer, Cyril (Mary Ann) Fortkamp, Henry (Arlene) Fortkamp, Vincent (Jean) Fortkamp, Ralph Fortkamp; brothers-in-law, Dick Poling and Gene Steinke; in-laws, Rita (Jerry) Pottkotter, Jeanette (Ernest) Homan, Ralph (Marilyn) May, Vic May, Jerry May, Tom May, and infant Dolores May.
Rosie and her husband, Bud, worked many years at Crystal Ballroom, Eldora Ballroom, and Eldora Speedway. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Daughters of Isabella Circle 810, Fort Recovery, American Legion Post 345, Fort Recovery, and St. Paul's Ladies Sodality.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, February 24, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael Kapolka as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with Rosie's family on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorial contributions may be given to EverHeart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway St., Greenville, OH 45331.
