The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Betty Phillips
Betty J. (Norris) Phillips, 88, peacefully finished her journey to heaven in the presence of her family on February 26, 2022, at Otterbein, St. Marys.
Betty was born on May 23, 1933, in Warsaw, Indiana, to the late Earl & Mary Belle (Stackhouse) Norris. She married her high school sweetheart, James "Jim" Phillips, on July 27, 1952. They were married nearly 70 years, and he currently lives at Otterbein, St. Marys.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Dr. Stephen (Rachael) Phillips and Dr. Brad (Mary Kay) Phillips; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Frank) Sabelhaus, CMDR C. Ryan (Andrea) Phillips, Christy (Bryan) Dam, Julia (Rafael) Guerrero, Dr. David (Janelle) Phillips and Sarah (Timothy) Hollihan. She also has 14 great-grandchildren. Her sister-in-law Molly (Phillips) Warren survives in Leesburg, Indiana.
Betty cherished her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who met her. She was active in her church, serving in ladies' societies and Sunday School classes. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards and being with friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
A celebration of Betty's life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating.     Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice, Grand Lake United Methodist Church or Otterbein, St. Marys.
